"In a dark time,
the eye begins to see."

Have you ever felt trapped with no way out?

Imagine using your distress as a way to gain a new
                                      perspective...

Sometimes the problems we encounter can lead us to a better understanding of
     ourselves and our potential.
Examining past experiences that have caused us pain can bring insight into our               current dilemmas.
By using this information, we are able to make changes in the way we perceive
our situations and the way we respond and react to them.
Therapy can open our eyes to new options and help us view our circumstances                  from a different vantage point.

Being honest with ourselves, while talking with someone who is both empathic and knowledgeable, allows us to discover solutions that we might not have otherwise found.
With this in mind, the goal of treatment then becomes not only resolving the issues that are causing discomfort,
but also making choices that lead to a more fulfilling way of living.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment and I will assist you in sorting out painful, difficult emotions.

If you are struggling with something and would like to talk about it,
consider calling or emailing me for an initial consultation.

Psychological Approach

As a Clinical Psychologist and a Marriage & Family Therapist,
I utilize a variety of psychological approaches in my private practice.

When working with adults, I use a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques,
examining both family history and current negative thought patterns.
With couples, the relationship is explored, first in order to understand the dynamics which create an impasse,
then to implement ways to reduce conflict, improve communication and increase intimacy.
With families, I use systems theory, which helps to identify problem areas, in order to devise goals for treatment
                and intervention.  I
have a particular interest in helping clients move through issues related to life transitions                          such as marriage, divorce and blending families.
With children, play therapy is used to encourage material, that is otherwise difficult to verbalize, to be accessed
                and expressed.

If you are dealing with a specific crisis, or are pondering the question of what gives life meaning,
I am available to help you with resources, or to recognize your unique purpose.
